Riverside County Supervisor Marion Ashley has joined the governing board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District.
Ashley, who was sworn in Friday, will represent Riverside County on the district board, according to a statement.
He will finish the four-year term of the late Riverside County Supervisor John Benoit, who died in December. That term will end Jan. 15 of next year.
This will not be Ashley’s first time on the AQMD board. He first served from Oct. 2009 to July 2010 when he replaced Riverside County Supervisor Roy Wilson, who left the board for medical reasons.
Ashley has chaired the Western Riverside Council of Governments and the Coachella Valley Association of Governments, and he has been Riverside County’s representative to the Southern California Association of Governments, according to the statement.
