Buffalo Wild Wings, the dining and sports bar chain, is coming to Montclair.
The company is planning to build a 7,000-square-foot restaurant at 4955 S. Plaza Lane, a site immediately south of Montclair Place formerly occupied Romano’s Macaroni Grill, said Mike Diaz, Montclair’s city planner.
Montclair Place is the regional shopping mall formerly known as Montclair Plaza. It’s located between Monte Vista and Central avenues immediately north of Interstate 10.
Buffalo Wild Wings’ future site is in a cluster of retail that includes Black Angus, Red Lobster and Chili’s Grill & Bar. The property is owned by CIM Group in Los Angeles, the same company that owns and operates Montclair Place.
The project was approved by the city in December. Site preparation is expected to start within the next two months, and the restaurant is expected to be operating by the end of the year, according to Diaz.
The number of people who will work there has not been released.
Buffalo Wild Wings, perhaps best known as a place where people gather to watch sports, is headquartered in Minneapolis. Its restaurants – more than 1,200 worldwide – are a mix of company-owned and franchised operations, according to the company’s website.
