On The Move

Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez recently attended the National Policy Institute on Energy, Natural Resources and Climate Change, a two-day conference in Houston.

The event, part of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, allowed Gutierrez and other policy makers to discuss energy issues and the future stewardship of natural resources, according to a statement on the city’s website.

The policy institute brought together state and local officials, national experts and representatives from the private sector.

In 2012, Moreno Valley adopted its Energy Efficiency and Climate Action Strategy. That plan is designed to reduce the environmental and financial impact of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions within the city, according to the statement.
