As of Sunday, Palm Springs has new regulations regarding vacation rentals.
Vacation rental units are now limited to 32 rental agreements per year, with four more combined agreements permitted in July, August and September, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Owners of vacation rentals must undergo yearly training showing them how to operate their facilities. Anyone who owned vacation rental properties before Jan. 10 of this year may continue to operate them, otherwise, only one permit per home will be granted
Also, the city’s newly established Vacation Rental Compliance Enforcement Officers will be the first officials to investigate any complaints, and rental guests must meet with the home owner, or rental agent, within 24 of checking in to make sure all regulations are complied with, according to the statement.
The city council approved the new regulations last month.
