The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter has received a $20,000 grant that will help pay for construction of a dog play yard.
The donation, from the Petco Foundation, will help provide an improved play area for homeless dogs, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter greatly appreciates the Petco Foundation’s generous investment toward this important lifesaving project,” said Steve Fries, Moreno Valley’s animal services division manager, in the statement.
“We extend a special thanks to the Petco Foundation Team, and many of our local residents for their ongoing support.”
City council members accepted the grant at their Sept. 5 meeting.
