Dunkin’ Donuts is coming to Menifee.
The global donut and coffeehouse chain will open a store at the Shops at Newport, a retail center under construction at Newport and Bradley roads, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The restaurant, the chain’s third in southwest Riverside County, will be located in a former McDonalds across from the Newport Plaza.
“Dunkin’ Donuts is another exciting brand to welcome to Menifee,” Councilman Matt Liesemeyer said in the statement. “It is national brands such as Dunkin’ Donuts that are keeping their eye on Menifee, as Menifee continues to grow and outpace its neighboring cities.”
Shops at Newport is expected to open next spring.
Dunkin’ Donuts recently announced plans to open a restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga, a drive-thru that will be its third San Bernardino County operation.
Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts is based in Canton, Mass. It’s one of the largest baked goods and coffee chains in the world, with more than 12,000 restaurants in 45 countries, according to the statement.
