Moreno Valley Councilman Dave Marquez has been appointed to the League of California Cities’ Public Safety Policy Committee.
“It is my honor and privilege to serve in this capacity, helping to shape the policies that will help California cities advocate for safe communities” Marquez said in a statement. “As a former police officer, I have a unique perspective on policies that impact service to our communities.”
The committee draws up league policy. It also reviews state and federal legislation related to law enforcement, fire and safety, then makes recommendations to the league’s board of directors.
The league is a group of city officials from throughout the state that, through exchanging information and combing resources, seeks to influence policy decisions in Sacramento.
