Airport Offers Discount Parking, Free Shuttle

Palm Springs International Airport is again offering extra parking during the Christmas season.

The lot, on Kirk Douglas Way near the airport’s terminal area, is owned by the city and can handle about 200 cars, said Amy Blaisdell, city spokeswoman.

It will open at 4:30 a.m every day through Jan. 3 and will remain open until the last flight, which varies from day to day.

Cost is $12 per vehicle, which is $2 less that the airport’s regular parking lots, and a complimentary shuttle is available to take people to the front of the main terminal during operating hours.

Return trips will be provided for as long as necessary.

Palm Springs International Airport is owned by the city of Palm Springs. It is served by 10 airlines and accommodated more than 1.8 million passengers between January and November of this year, according to the city’s website.
