Jennifer Alford, an associate professor of geography and environmental studies at Cal State San Bernardino, has won the university’s Golden Apple Award for the 2024-25 academic year.
This is the second year in a row that a professor from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences has won that award, which is presented to a faculty member “who excels in the profession of teaching and who (has) a significant impact on students’ lives,” according to a statement on the university’s website.
“It’s such an incredible honor,” Alford said in a statement. “I am constantly promoting Cal State San Bernardino because I truly believe that we have the best students, the brightest students in the Inland Empire.”
The award includes a $2,000 Faculty Professional Development Grant, recognition at the college’s commencement ceremony, and being honored at the faculty recognition luncheon, according to the statement.
