American Airlines will add flights from Palm Springs International Airport to Austin, Texas staring this fall.
The flights will operate daily from Nov. 17 through Nov. 29 and Dec. 15 through Jan. 9, giving travelers a second set of nonstop flights to the Texas capital during the holidays, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Alaska Airlines is the only other carrier that offers nonstop service to Austin from Palm Springs International.
“We’re excited to welcome additional service to Austin,” said Harry Barrett, the airport’s executive director of aviation, in the statement. “Our airport continues to offer more flight options for area residents, making it easier for them to choose to support their local airport.”
American now operates year-round service to Dallas-Fort Worth and Phoenix and seasonal service to Chicago and Austin, from Palm Springs International. The seasonal service to Chicago is schedule to begin Sept. 9, nearly two months earlier than in previous years, according to the statement.
