Riverside County has created a smartphone app and an online form to report anyone who violates state or county designed to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
RivCoMobile – which also provides services and information to residents – has a “Coronavirus” feature on the landing page that can be used to make anonymous reports about possible violations, according to a statement on the city’s website.
“We must mitigate and suppress the spread of the Coronavirus,” Fourth District Supervisor V. Manuel Perez said in the statement. “This app will help identify hotspots that will lead to efficiently responding to businesses that are risking the health of the community.”
Users will be required to report the exact violation and where it occurred. Violations may include the operation of a nonessential businesses, unauthorized gatherings and failure to comply with health orders, like facial covering and social distancing, according to the statement.
