Attorneys donate to local non-profit

The San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association has donated $1,000 to Option House Inc., a San Bernardino-based non-profit that assists victims of domestic violence.

“On behalf of the women and children served through Option House, I want to thank the San Bernardino County Public Attorneys Association for their donation to our program,” said Heather Stevning, Option House’s executive director, in the statement.

“We are reliant on charitable donations in order to be able to continue to provide these services. Their generosity will have a positive impact on people who are in need, as well as on the larger community.”

The donation was announced last week. Option House recently started a $1,000 fundraising campaign, a goal the attorneys association was able to meet in full.

The attorneys association is made up of county public defenders, district attorneys and the San Bernardino County Child Advocacy Attorneys. The latter makes certain children get the legal support they’re entitled to within the criminal justice system, according to the statement.
