AV appoints budget advisory members

The Apple Valley Town Council has appointed 10 residents to its new citizens budget advisory committee.

Committee members will review financial documents and projections and advise the council on budget issues, according to a statement on the town’s website.

Like most California municipalities, Apple Valley is struggling with rising service costs and declining revenues while having to deal with the financial damage caused by COVID-19.

Committee members are Jack Betterley, JoAnn Betty, Adolph Collaso, Matthew Drake, Forest “Rusty” Green, Amanda Hernandez, Anita Itnyre, Lisa Lamb, and Dennis “Pat” Orr, and Regina Weatherspoon-Bell.

The group is expected to meet twice per month through May. Those sessions will be livestreamed on www.AppleValley.tv and on local Spectrum 186 and Frontier 29, Apple Valley’s local access channels.
