Cheylynda Barnard has been named Moreno Valley’s Mayor Pro Tem.
Barnard, who represents the council’s fourth district, was approved unanimously last month by her fellow council members, according to a statement on the city’s website.
An 18-year Moreno Valley resident, Barnard was elected to the council in November 2022. She serves on the city’s Parks, Community Services & Trails Committee, the Utilities Commission, the Finance Subcommittee, and the Parks & Community Services Council Committee.
“I am honored to hold the title of Mayor Pro Tem,” Barnard said in the statement. “I will continue to represent the city I call home, and work with my colleagues on the council to ensure our community continues to thrive.”
