Harry Barrett Jr. is stepping down as Palm Springs International Airport’s executive director.
Barrett, who has held that post since 2022, is leaving to become assistant director of Sacramento County’s Department of Airports, according a statement on Palm Springs’ website.
Barrett, who joined the airport in 2020 as its deputy director of operations and maintenance, will remain through May 21. He is scheduled to begin work in Sacramento May 26.
“Harry has helped guide Palm Springs International Airport through an important period of growth and progress,” said City Manager Scott Stiles in the statement. “We appreciate his leadership, and his commitment to a thoughtful transition.”
The airport’s executive leadership group will oversee day-to-day operations during the transition. An interim executive director has not been selected, and a timeline for filling that position permanently hasn’t been determined, according to the statement.
