Restaurants, bars, wineries and breweries in Palm Springs may again stay open until 2 a.m.
City Manager David H. Ready issued an executive order approving the move that went into effect Friday, according to a statement on the city website.
A midnight curfew for those businesses had been in place since July. The change is a result of the recent drop in COVID-19 cases in Riverside County.
“We feel confident with case numbers trending down that it is safe to rescind the July order and allow the affected businesses to close at 2 a.m.,” said Ready, who is also Palm Springs’ emergency services director, in the statement. “We ask that everyone continue to social distance, wear a mask, wash hands frequently and get tested when necessary.”
