Ali Sahabi will serve as president of the Baldy View Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California in 2016.
His induction was announced in a statement released Wednesday by the chapter.
Sahabi has a long history in the Inland Empire, including serving as master developer of the Dos Lagos project in Corona. He also helped lead the Green Valley Initiative, a cooperative project that promotes clean technology, especially renewable energies, in the Inland Empire’s public and private sector.
Sahabi also won the 2009 California Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award, and he endowed UC Riverside’s Center for Sustainable Suburban Development.
“We are excited to have Ali Sahabi take a leadership role as our new president,” said Carlos Rodriguez, the chapter’s chief executive officer, in the statement. “His expertise, vision and spirit of collaboration will not only help those working locally within the industry, but will serve the greater region as well.”
Sahabi is founder and president of Optimum Group in Pasadena, a real estate and construction management firm that works with government and private entities.
