Cal Poly Pomona welcomed the largest class in its 80-year history Thursday, as more than 7,700 first-time and transfer students began the fall semester.
Applications are up nearly five percent among first-year students, while transfer students showed a slight uptick, according to a statement.
The colleges of engineering, business administration and letters, arts and social sciences were three most popular majors among new students. Eight hundred and one California high schools were represented in this year’s incoming class.
Cal Poly was recently named the 47th best college in the United States for affordability and quality, according to the statement.
