Canines to get Thanksgiving meal

The San Bernardino Animal Shelter staff and more than 200 volunteers will gather at the shelter on Nov. 23 to serve a hot Thanksgiving Day meal to more than 200 dogs, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“Shelter animals are the most vulnerable population of pets, and we think every person and every pet deserves a hot Thanksgiving meal,” the statement reads.

Dogs will be available for adoption. Interested parties from all cities are welcome.

The shelter’s regular hours are 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. It typically houses stray animals found in San Bernardino, Grand Terrace, and Loma Linda.

Microchipping costs $25 per pet. People visiting the shelter to adopt or redeem a pet, or obtain a license, are served on a first-come, first-served basis.
