Carpenter named to MSJC board

Vicki Carpenter has been appointed to the Mt. San Jacinto College Board of Trustees.

Carpenter was appointed earlier this month to fill the board’s Area 3 seat, which represents Menifee and parts of Hemet, according to a statement.

That seat became vacant in August when Bill Zimmerman stepped down to become Menifee’s mayor.

Carpenter, a real estate agent with Caldwell Banker and a member of the brokerage’s management team, will serve the remainder of Zimmerman’s four-year term, which ends at the end of this year.

In December, Carpenter will be sworn in to succeed Zimmerman. Of the candidates who filed to run for the Area 3 seat on the Nov. 6 ballot, she was declared the only one eligible for the position by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters, according to the statement.
