Chaffey College’s accreditation has been extended for seven years by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The school’s administrators, faculty and staff spent two years securing the extension, which is based on “student learning, long-range planning for facilities and technology and interaction between faculty and students in distance education,” according to a statement on the school’s website.
“These commendations highlight our ability to exceed expectations and create a vibrant college culture where ideas are encouraged and developed at all levels,” said Henry D. Shannon, Chaffey College’s president and superintendent, in the statement. “We are especially proud that the commission did not issue any compliance requirements or recommendations for improving institutional effectiveness, which is a rare accolade.”
