Nearly 22,000 students began classes at Chaffey College’s three campuses Tuesday, the first day of the school’s fall semester.
More than 4,100 students are enrolled in “distance learning” courses, meaning courses that are online or partially online, according to a statement.
Sixteen new faculty members were on campus for the 2018-’19 academic year, and several new programs were begun, including events planning, avionics, ventilation and air conditioning, arts business management and social media.
During the next few weeks, Chaffey will enroll close to 1,000 high school students in classes that will be taught by Chaffey faculty at local high schools. Those students will begin their college careers while pursuing their high school diplomas.
Chaffey College operates campuses in Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and Chino.
