Matthew Chang has been named director of behavioral health at Riverside University Health System.
He replaces Steve Steinberg, who retired recently after 25 years with the department, according to a statement.
A board-certified child/dolescent forensic psychiatrist, Chang has been medical director of behavioral health for the past two years.
Under his leadership, the department will look to expand its children’s services and substance abuse programs, Chang said in the statement.
Besides behavioral health, Riverside University Health System includes departments of community health, public health and a 439-bed medical center in Moreno Valley. Its behavioral health department provides clinical and substance abuse services to more than 60,000 people a year, according to the statement.
