The Yucaipa Valley Christian School District has scheduled a fundraiser for early next month.
“A Celebration From The Heart” will be held Feb. 7 at Yucaipa Christian Church, 12954 Bryant St.
The event, which will start at 6 p.m., will feature a dinner and silent auction. Local radio personality Lou Desmond, host of The Lou Desmond Show on KTIE-AM590, will emcee the event.
“This is a great way for us to connect with the community,” said Jim Cochran, administrator for the school district. “It allows us to strengthen ties in the community and share our mission in a fun environment.”
District officials established the gala four years ago to raise extra funds for after-school programs and extracurricular activities, including the Strada Corsa bicycle club and the Lego Club for Yucaipa Christian School.
Some of the proceeds raised will go to the district’s scholarship program, which allows children to attend Yucaipa Christian School or Yucaipa Christian Preschool regardless of their financial background.
