Moreno Valley has broken ground on an expansion of its senior center, a step forward in the city’s efforts to help its senior population.
The project will add 4,540 square feet to the facility at 25075 Fir Ave., including a 920-square-foot covered breezeway that will connect the new building to the current senior center, according to a statement on the city’s website.
A 490-square-foot patio cover will be added to the northwest corner of the current center, which will add outdoor space for social activities.
“This expansion reflects our deep commitment to enriching the lives of our senior residents by investing in a center that will serve generations of seniors for years to come,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera in the statement. “We’re excited to provide more space for them to gather, enjoy programs, and connect with each other.”
Cost of the project, which is expected to be completed in late 2025, was not disclosed.
