Riverside is trying to make life a little easier for developers and anyone else looking to invest in that community.
City officials have established a “One Stop Shop” that brings together on one floor of city hall all of the departments that are part of the development process, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Anyone doing business with the city will have exclusive use of an express elevator, access to cell phone charging stations and a concierge-type system that will make it easier and quicker to obtain permits and approvals.
The One Stop Shop is on the third floor, where customers are moved through a series of work stations staffed by officials from various city departments, including planning, building, fire, utilities and public works.
Traditionally, anyone conducting business with a local government entity must move from floor to floor, or building to building, to get information and get their projects approved. One Stop Shop is part of Streamline Riverside, a program meant to eliminate barriers and reduce wait time for developers and business officials, according to the statement.
