College secures stadium naming rights deal

One month after it opened, Mt. San Jacinto College’s athletic stadium had a corporate sponsor.

The Mt. San Jacinto College District, the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation, and HCN Bank have reached a $1 million agreement that names the stadium on the Menifee Valley campus HCN Bank Stadium, according to a statement.

The 10-year agreement is the first of its kind in the school’s history. The bank, formerly known as The Bank of Hemet, changed its name this year to better reflect its presence in the Hemet and San Jacinto region for nearly 50 years.

“HCN Bank is honored to be associated with Mt. San Jacinto College through the naming rights and sponsorship of their new stadium, an investment that represents the pinnacle of our long-standing relationship,” said Kevin Farrenkopf, HCN Bank’s president and chief executive officer, in the statement.

“We are thrilled to contribute to the success of MSJC’s students by supporting what will soon become the premier site for community events for the entire region, in addition to serving as the home to the MSJC Eagles Athletics program.”

The 5,000-seat facility, now home to the school football and women’s soccer team, is the centerpiece of Mt. San Jacinto College’s Athletics & Kinesiology Complex, The stadium will also host community gatherings, concerts, and student activities, and can be expanded to seat 20,000, according to the statement.
