Moreno Valley has launched “Beautify MoVal,” a community participation program designed to keep the city clean.
City residents may volunteer to clean a park, road, trail, or sponsor a clean-up, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Beautify MoVal will also include three community days of service, in which residents will join volunteer city employees for a citywide cleanup.
Those dates, all Saturdays, are May 8, Aug. 14, and Nov. 13. The cleanups are scheduled to be held from 9 a.m. to noon.

“We get so many questions from residents, organizations and businesses about opportunities to adopt a road or trail segment or park that we decided to put it all online in a clear, straightforward way,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez in the statement. “We want to provide residents who want to be of service with meaningful ways to give back to the community.”
