Sonic Drive-In is working on plans to develop a restaurant in Corona.
If that happens, Corona would be one of the few cities in Riverside County with one of the popular drive-in restaurants, according to a report originally published in The Press-Enterprise.
City officials have been trying to lure Sonic for several years.
Last week, the city’s infrastructure committee, which is made up of city council and planning commission members, saw plans for the restaurant and responded positively, according to the report.
Sonic wants to take over a former Burger King on Magnolia Avenue near Rimpau Avenue and Interstate 15, according to the report.
