Riverside County is seeking volunteers to help conduct its annual Homeless Point-in-Time Count and Survey, which is scheduled to be held Jan. 24 in Palm Springs.
The homeless count is a one-day street and service-based effort designed to calculate how many people in the county are homeless on any one day, according to a statement posted on Palm Springs’ website.
The county’s Department of Public Social Services, along with its Continuum of Care, conducts the survey. The Continuum of Care is a network of private and public sector home service providers that work to eliminate homelessness.
The event will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the Police Training Center, 200 S. Civic Drive.
All volunteers must complete a two-hour training course prior to the count. To volunteer visit RiversideHomelessCounts.com.
