COVID-19 test site established in Blythe

COVID-19 tests are again available in Blythe.

Residents of eastern Riverside County may get tested at 445 N. Broadway  Ave., where tests will be available through June 24, according to a statement on Riverside County’s website.

In April, county health officials conducted tests at the Colorado River Fairgrounds.  They’re returning to the desert city in part because of a Coronavirus breakout at a nearby state prison.

Anyone may get tested at a county site with no charge, regardless of whether they have symptoms of COVID-19. Participants will be asked for information regarding their health insurance, but they will get tested regardless of whether they provide that information.

Anyone who wants a test must get an appointment.

More than 146,000 Coronavirus tests have been conducted in Riverside County, with more than 10,000 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, according to the statement.
