Inland Empire credit unions are gaining in popularity

Credit Union Reports Growth

Altura Credit Union reported net income of $2.6 million during the second quarter of this year, up from $2.1 million compared with the second quarter of 2015.

During the first half of this year, the Riverside-based financial institution had a net income of $5.87 million, according to the company’s second quarter report, which was released Thursday.

Altura, which has an estimated 117,000 members and nearly $2 billion in assets, has added about 1,100 members each month since the start of the year, according to the report.
