Cal State Bernardino is conducting a $200 million “blended” fundraising campaign that will seek donations from multiple sources.
“Our Defining Moment: The Campaign for CSUSB” was highlighted by President Tomas D. Morales during the university’s convocation Aug. 18, the traditional start of the academic year, according to a statement on the university’s website.
“By blended, I mean we will be seeking support from a variety of investors,” Morales said. “Alumni, friends and corporate and foundation partners.”
Sources not normally associated with academic fundraising are also being targeted, including government agencies and Native American tribes.
The campaign, which is scheduled to last through 2025, has raised $130 million and is expected to meet its goal. Money raised will pay for scholarships, faculty, programs-research and construction.
This is the first time any of the 23 schools in the California State University system have conducted such a comprehensive fundraising campaign, according to the statement.
