CSUSB to host start-up business competition

Cal State San Bernardino will host a one-day competition during which students will pitch their ideas for a start-up business.

The event is scheduled to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 2 at the Entrepreneurial Resourced Center in Temecula, 43200 Business Park Drive, according to a statement.

This year’s competition replaces the annual statewide CSU Sunstone Startup Pitch Competition. That multi-day event was canceled this year due to travel restrictions put into place by several Cal State campuses because of budget constraints.

Sixteen to 20 teams of Cal State students are expected to compete for $10,000 in prize money. Besides the business pitches, the event will include lunch, refreshments, snacks, and dinner.

The competition will be hosted by the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship and Cal State San Bernardino’s School of Entrepreneurship. Temecula and Riverside County are support sponsors. Seating is limited, so anyone who wishes to participate should register online.
