Cal State San Bernardino will join forces with a division of the U.S. Navy that will make the university a partner in creating defense technology.
The education partnership agreement between the school and the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s Corona Division will become official during a signing ceremony scheduled for May 5, according to a statement on Cal State San Bernardino’s website.
Tomas D. Morales, university president, officials from the U.S. Navy and local dignitaries are expected to attend the signing, which will be held on campus.
“This agreement positions Cal State San Bernardino as a strategic partner in defense technology innovation, workforce development and the commercialization of cutting-edge research,” the statement reads. “The partnership will involve collaboration with (Cal State San Bernardino’s) School of Entrepreneurship, and the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, deepening the university’s engagement in applied research and economic development.”
