Cal State San Bernardino will partner with an Eastern European university to promote education, science, and cultural development.
The collaboration with Lviv Polytechnic National University in Ukraine, which is still being planned, will focus first on entrepreneurship, according to a statement on the Cal State San Bernardino website.
“This is a wonderful opportunity that will ultimately benefit students and the faculty and staff at both of our institutions,” said Tomas D. Morales, president of Cal State San Bernardino, in the statement. “The memorandum of understanding reinforces my belief that students receive an incredible benefit from international studies.
“I look forward to our two institutions working together.”
Both institutions will hold seminars and other activities for students and faculty that, in addition to boosting entrepreneurship, will concentrate on research and technology. All interaction will be held virtually until the war in Ukraine is ended.
The partnership was inspired by Christopher Watson, a Ukraine-based investor who promotes cooperation and shared research between universities in different countries, according to the statement.
