The Press-Enterprise in Riverside has announced another round of layoffs.
Thirty nine workers will be laid off as part of general restructuring at the Inland Empire’s largest daily newspaper, according to a report originally published in The Press-Enterprise.
Those workers are employed in the newsroom, information technology and production departments and the back office, according to the report.
Santa Ana-based Freedom Communications has now conducted two rounds of layoffs at the Press-Enterprise since it bought the paper from A.H. Belo Corp. last November for $27.25 million.
At the time of the purchase, the Press-Enterprise had 375 full-time and part-time workers. Forty two employees were laid off last month, according to the report.
