Starting this fall, Frontier Airlines will offer seasonal nonstop service between Palm Springs International Airport and Denver.
The new flights, which will run Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, will offer one-way fares as low as $59, according to a statement posted Tuesday on Palm Springs’ website.
Frontier Airlines, a low-cost airline that maintains its hub at Denver International Airport, ran flights between Palm Springs International and Denver International from late 2011 through January 2015.
Its decision to resume that service was welcomed by Palm Springs officials.
“Frontier once again recognizes the value of the Palm Springs resort destination to their Denver market,” City Manager David H. Ready said in a statement. “This is excellent news for Palm Springs tourism and local residents interested in flying to and from Colorado, giving them an opportunity to connect to a large network of flights through the Denver hub.”
Also on Tuesday, Frontier Airlines announced it will offer flights from Ontario International Airport to Austin, Texas and Chicago beginning this fall.
