Desert shopping center sold

A La Quinta shopping center has been sold for $26.4 million.

Komar Desert Center, an 80,000-square-foot development at Highway 111 and Jefferson Boulevard, was sold to a private investor whose name was not released, according to a statement released by CBRE.

Information regarding the seller was not disclosed.

The center’s tenants include Starbucks, Mimi’s Café, Beverages & More, and Panda Express. It’s also near the only Costco in the desert region.

The sale is the one-thousandth retail transaction completed by the 19-member CBRE’s Retail Investment Team, which is based in Newport Beach. Since 2012, the team has negotiated deals involving 359 anchored shopping centers, 267 strip malls, 356 single-tenant-net-leased investments, and other retail properties.

Combined, those deals were worth nearly $14.8 billion and covered more than 75 million square feet throughout the western United States, according to the statement.
