Prologis, the company that develops and manages large logistics facilities, has offered to downsize a project it plans to build in Moreno Valley.
Officials with the San Francisco company agreed to the reduction after residents complained to the city about the size and scope of the project, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
Originally, Prologis planned to build six buildings that combined would cover 2.2 million square feet. The speculative project will be developed on 123 acres south of the Pomona Freeway between Redlands Boulevard and Moreno Beach Drive.
However, in a letter to the mayor’s office, the company said it will cut the project in size by 32 percent and decrease truck traffic in and out of the facility by the same amount, according to the report.
Under the new proposal, the development would have four buildings that combined would cover 1.5 million square feet, and some of the site would remain residential. The project is still expected to generate about 4,400 trips a day, most of which would be trucks, according to the report.
