Ben Diederich has been named to the Menifee City Council.
A longtime Menifee resident and six-year planning commission member, Diederich was appointed during the Jan. 15 council meeting to represent District 2, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Diederich was selected from several candidates. All were interviewed by the council during a special session held before the Jan. 15 council meeting.
“I am honored that the city council has appointed me as the District 2 City council member and look forward to serving my community, and ensuring the safety and happiness of our residents,” Diederich said in the statement.
Diederich replaces Ricky Estrada, who was sworn in as mayor Dec. 17. Diederich is scheduled to be sworn in at the Feb. 5 council meeting.
