Palm Springs International Airport pumped $2.5 billion into the Coachella Valley economy and accounted for 18,777 jobs during fiscal year 2024, according to a recent study.
The Coachella Valley’s largest airport also generated $864 million in wages paid, $1.5 billion in gross domestic product and $382 million in tax revenue, the airport’s 2025 Economic Impact Study found.
“This study demonstrates how deeply Palm Springs International is woven into the economic fabric of our community,” said Harry Barrett, Jr., the airport’s executive director of aviation, said in a statement. “From creating jobs and supporting small businesses, to bringing visitors who sustain our hospitality industry, the airport powers opportunity for thousands of people.”
More than $1.1 billion in spending was generated by people who flew into Palm Springs International.
The airport, which is scheduled to undergo major upgrades, is expected to create 9,800 jobs, add $1.8 billion in economic output, and generate $253 billion in additional tax revenue in the next 10 years, according to the report.
