Loma Linda University Health has started construction on a new hospital.
The Loma Linda University Rehabilitation Hospital will be a freestanding, 80-bed facility that will be operated by Loma Linda University Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, according to a statement on LLUH’s website.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Aug. 18.
The facility will be located at 11207 New Jersey Street in Redlands. It is expected to open in the summer of 2028.
“Providing specialty care is the driving force of this partnership,” said Russ Bailey, president of Lifepoint Rehabilitation, in the statement, “We are deeply committed to investing in the people, facilities and cutting-edge technologies that empower patients to reclaim their independence, close to home.”
The facility will provide “speech pathology services for adults recovering from stroke, neurological disease, brain or spinal cord injury, and other debilitating illnesses or injuries,” according to the statement.
