The last two trucking companies that were picketing the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports have ended their strike, at least for now.
Pacer Cartage and Harbor Rail Transport voted to end the walkout and agreed to discuss their disputes with the companies that employ them, according to multiple published reports.
A truce between striking truckers and their employees was brokered by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. The local strike involved several hundred truck drivers, but goods continued to flow in and out of the ports.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union will continue to negotiate a contract for about 20,000 of its West Coast members, according to the reports.
