Good news for dog lovers in the Coachella Valley: the Palm Springs Dog Park is scheduled to reopen in November.
The park, at 222 N. Civic Drive, has been fitted with a new irrigation, system, upgraded landscaping, a concrete walkway and an underground electrical that will accommodate new LED decorative light fixtures, according to a city statement.
Improvements that need to be completed include a dog bone bench, dog wash fountain and trash receptacles.
Renovations to the park began about one month ago. Until the reopening, dog lovers are welcome to take their puppies to Demuth Park across from the Palm Springs Animal Shelter, which is at 4575 E. Mesquite Ave., according to the statement.
