The state Department of Water Resources and the California Center for Urban Horticulture will host three workshops designed to help professional landscapers deal with the drought.
The first session is scheduled to be held from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Toro Company, 5825 Jasmine St., Riverside. On Thursday, two days later, a second session will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Santa Fe Room at Balboa Park, 2150 Pan American Road West San Diego.
A third workshop is scheduled for July 18 from 7:30 a.m. to noon in Liebow Auditorium in UC San Diego’s Biomedical Sciences Building, 9500 Gilman Drive, La Jolla.
All three sessions will include presentations on water conservation rebate programs and irrigation management for mature trees. Ways to reduce runoff, improve water distribution through better sprinkler use and improve control programs used during mandatory water restriction periods will also be covered.
