A nurses strike regarding better protection against the Ebola virus that began Tuesday in Northern California is moving to the Southland.
Thousands of nurses either walked off the job or joined picket lines at major hospitals today to protest inadequate staffing and demand better protective gear against infectious diseases like Ebola, according to a report in the Los Angeles Daily News.
Today, an estimated 20,000 nurses and nurse practitioners will strike against 86 Kaiser Permanente hospitals and clinics along with other California hospitals and facilities in 15 other states.
Hospitals in San Bernardino, Long Beach and at UCLA are scheduled to be protested today, the report stated.
