Leticia G. Espinoza has been promoted to Cardenas Markets’ chief legal counsel.
A 23-year member of the legal profession, Espinoza joined the Ontario-based supermarket chain in 2019 as its corporate secretary and general counsel, according to statement.
She will continue to oversee day-to-day operations of the company’s legal, risk management, quality assurance, payroll, human resources and training departments and answer to Doug Sanders, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
“Leticia has demonstrated strong initiative, stellar leadership skills and has proven to be an invaluable legal resource,” Sanders said in the statement. “She also possesses strong business acumen which enables our company to align, achieve and advance our business priorities.”
Cardenas operates 53 stores under the Cardenas banner and seven stores under the Cardenas Ranch Markets banner. It has locations in California, Nevada, and Arizona, according to the statement.
