Esri is making its data and technology available on the IBM cloud.
The Redlands-based company, a world leader in geographic information system technology, announced Tuesday that IBM customers can now use Esri maps, data and analytical services “in a secure cloud environment,” according to a statement.
Esri and IBM technology can be used together for a number of purposes, including gathering weather information that makes it possible to predict possible damage to buildings, gaining insight into people’s movement and crowd gathering and possible machine failures, Esri reported.
The partnership was announced at the IBM World of Watson event in Las Vegas.
