A farmers market is scheduled to begin operating Aug. 18 on the campus of Riverside University Health System-Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
The event, which is scheduled to be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Thursday except holidays, will emphasize healthy foods, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Vendors will sell stone fruit, grapes, berries, citrus, eggs, leafy greens, tomatoes, Mediterranean foods and baked goods, among other healthy items.
All vendors will be certified with the California Department of Agriculture.
The farmers market is meant to encourage healthy eating, and more activities to encourage health and wellness will be added, according to the statement.
